Community Harvest Festival in Plaistow’s Greenway Orchard 6 October

Enjoy nature and the outdoors in Plaistow’s Greenway Orchard.  Celebrate harvest and join in some old fashioned community activities.

Saturday 6th October 3-5pm on the Greenway Orchard

(Boundary Lane entrance)

  • Making corn dollies
  • English apple tasting
  • Best vegetable display (home grown veg),
  • Apple pie & wonky vegetable competition,
  • Plant swap/seeds swap/planting winter veg
  • Local herb tea tasters
  • Story telling & music

Here’s the approximate programme

  • Apple pie competition prizes!

    3pm: Welcome /Chill out in nature/Sam on guitar / taste fresh herb teas/ taste home made chutneys and jams / taste English apples / decorate the trees / locally grown veg and ‘grow your own’ tips

  • 3.20: Story telling with Tamzila, from Bank of Ideas
  • 4.00: making corn dollies workshop / Ben on guitar
  • 4.30 Apple pie & Apple cake competition with tasters after
  • 5.00 – group photo (if you want to), close and clearing up.
