Celebrating Earth, Crafts and Nature in Plaistow Festival Week
Our Green Spaces workers are bringing you an array of nature inspired activities in the Plaistow Festival week. Do you love the outdoors? Join us!
Walking yoga – Monday 18th 3.45-5.15 in Plaistow Park with local yoga teacher Indira Nandha. Gentle exercise, stress reduction and inner happiness in a lovely green space. Meet at Greengate Street entrance.
Tree dressing – Tuesday 19th 3.30-5 in Plaistow Park, by the children’s playground – Greengate Street entrance. We have permission to decorate the trees and to let children and adults appreciate, touch and adorn the trees you pass every day. We have sourced colourful rags which are being re-used for this activity. Join for 5 minutes or stay all the while.
Wild plants folklore – Wednesday 20th 10-12 noon – Learn about the folklore of some of the wild plants found in Greenway Orchard, by Boundary Lane. Milena will share interesting facts and tales, uses and application of some common plants usually regarded as weed.The talk will take place in The Mix if the weather is wet and windy.
Solstice Picnic – Thursday 21st 2.30-4.30 in the Greenway Orchard. Bring and share food in a natural environment, and join eco crafty activities: making clay faces for the trees, make sun catchers, enjoy nature. Join us in celebrating the Earth turning and 2018’s equal day and night.
