Director
I am delighted to be leading the team here at Plaistow South Big Local. I am a local resident thus the work PSBL do is so close to my heart. I have extensive experience in working within the community whether it be at grass root level to leading on various projects. With community engagement comes empowering others, equipping people with the right tools to be able to empower themselves and those around them for positive change. Through this opportunity, I hope to utilise my skills and apply my strong academic background and creativity in a fast-paced, ever-growing community sector to shape the work at PSBL and make Plaistow South an even better place to live and work in future.

“We are stronger together and together, ordinary people like us can achieve extraordinary results.”

Community Development & Partnerships
I have been involved with Plaistow South Big Local from the very first meeting. I started off as a steering group member, serving for several years as the Chair before joining the staff team two years ago. As a local resident of more than 25 years I am deeply invested in the community where I live & work.
I am a member of several local Newham forums and previously served for many years as a Newham Governor at a local secondary school. I recently became a trustee for Forget Me Not Memory Café Charity with groups operating at Barbican, the City and in Essex and I’m very proud to be involved.
My free time is spent with family & friends who have always supported me to do the things that I love, I am grateful to them all.

I am a local resident with many years experience in working with people from diverse and multicultural backgrounds.
I have great passion in helping others, where possible to make a difference to their lives. I started as a volunteer at PSBL and I am grateful to be given the opportunity to work as a Community Development Officer and look forward to connecting with residents and organisations in working towards making a positive change in our community.

Volunteer – Digital Project
Hi, I’m Tahmid and I am a volunteer at PSBL, I’m really into coding as well as gaming. One thing that drove me to work as a volunteer for this awesome digital project is the empowering local residents with computer skills and creating a supportive community. I believe in using technology to make a positive impact and help others. It’s an amazing opportunity to contribute my skills and make a difference. I look forward to strengthening my skill sets and making a difference in the community.
