PSBL has funded 2 innovative arts-based projects working with schools and community on ideas for imagining how the Greenway might be enhanced with public art installations. Our hope and plan is that, over the next few years, some of these ideas will be translated into full scale reality!

Artist Madhumita Bose-Thomas worked with Brampton Manor Academy students, patients, staff and visitors at Newham University Hospital and at Plaistow Library. Here are some of the fantastic designs the students came up with:

PSBL funded Rosetta Art Centre to work with pupils at Kaizen and Tollgate Primary Schools to make clay models representing their visions of how the Greenway could be improved.  Kikis Leventis, a local artist and Finnish ceramicist Pauliina Pollanen, a former artist in residence at the V&A led the after school workshops.

At the awards event held in NewVIC’s new café in July, 9 pupils were awarded scholarships to RAC’s Saturday Art School, and 37 arts kits were given to those who took part in workshops.
