Celebrating, using and developing green spaces has been a priority for PSBL right from the start. Green spaces are so important for wellbeing and there is plenty of scope to bring more nature into our area.
We have been involved in many projects and are always looking to support ideas from residents in developing green spaces and getting more people enjoying nature and gardening.
Greenway Orchard Green Gym
There are a group of Green Gym volunteers who are managing the Greenway Orchard and their sessions are on Thursdays 11-2. Everyone is welcome to join in. We have been funding and supporting the Green Gym volunteers for many years. For more information click here.
Events and growing on the Greenway
We like to find outdoor spaces that can be used for the Community. We ran the Plaistow Youth Market for many years on the Greenway between Prince Regent Lane and Boundary Road. This project has ended for the moment but has been a wonderful legacy for supporting many small crafts and business ideas to take off. We also planted sunflowers on the Greenway and tried out growing beans. We are still keen to see how our patch of the Greenway can be used for community ideas and more gardening. Do get in touch if you have ideas.
Plaistow Park
We have run many events in Plaistow Park including the Plaistow Festival. Recently we partnered with Rosetta Arts in the Plaistow Unlocked festival. If you have ideas for helping the Park and using it more do get in touch with us or with Plaistow Community Neighbourhood
Tree Pits
We have been supporting residents to take on the tree pits as mini gardens in Tunmarsh Lane and Humberstone Road. If you have a spot that you think could be taken on and planted and shown some love, do get in touch.
Neighbourhood planters in Egham Road and Chalk Road
We have worked with residents to create new, shared green spaces…. this page will be updated soon
